Taking Back America One Barrel At A Time
As I wrote in my
last article the United
States has enough oil to last us us for over 2,000 years. It is not off shore
drilling but right under our feet.
US oil Discovery - Largest reserve in the world Stansberry Report Online
4-20-2006
About 1,000 feet under the surface of the rocky Mountains lies the larges
untapped oil reserve in the world. It has more than two trillion barrels.
This is not counting 3 to 4.3 billion in North Dakota and Montana. In the Austin
Chalk of Texas and Louisiana lies an estimated billion barrels. This is just to
name a few.
Think what this could do for our economy if environmentalists, lobbyists and EPA
would get out of the way in order for our Country to prosper.
The US consumed in 2010 6.99 billion barrels of oil (one year). One barrel of
crude oil (42 gallons) makes 19 gallons of gasoline. The remainder of the barrel
makes fuel oils, jet fuel and other products. See a partial list of of
manufactured products requiring oil
here.
In 2010 the US produced about 5.5 million barrels of oil per day and imported
about 9.2 million per day. Oil today is running between 90 and 100 dollars a
barrel versus $16 to$20. Look at the jobs that could be started.
More facts
Arizona Clean Fuels estimates
the cost of one refinery and power plant at ten billion dollars. It will refine
400,000 barrels per day. Around 4,500 jobs will be created over a four year
period. When completed 1,826 permanent jobs paying 20 to $30 per hour will be
created.
Jobs could open up so fast it could be hard to fill them. Think of the many
private sector jobs this would create. We could actually export our way out of debt.
If it cost us $20 a barrel and we sold it at a $40 profit not only could we eliminate our deficit, but pay for the refineries to produce the oil. There would
be no need to borrow money from foreign Countries. America would be back to work
and thriving. At that point we could engage in going green without bankrupting
us.
It's time to quit sending tax payer dollars to other
countries so they can drill, then sell the oil back to us for a large profit.
Let me know what you think of this, comment below.
