Flawed Food Safety Bills in Congress

Consumers who buy nutrient-dense foods from local, sustainable farmers can feel secure about the safety of their food.  The same is not true for the majority who buy their food in grocery stores from mass-production industrialized operations.  We understand the pressure that Congress faces to improve the safety of that mainstream system.  But it is critical that the laws not interfere with the right to choose local foods or with our farmers' ability to raise safer, healthier foods!   http://www.ftcldf.org/news/news-02mar2009.htm

HEALTH CARE REFORM

Americans could be facing one of the most important decisions an administration has ever tried to push through. Health Care
Reform is supposed to give all citizens the right to receive proper care in times of illness. Mr. Obama states, we have to
pass this bill by the end of the year. To him along with Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Gibbs, Steven, Harry Reid and
many others say we don't have the right to take time to see what the bill involves. Obama and his administration states,
government health care will not cost the middle class more money, taxes will not be raised. Many voters today say they have
not seen one campaign promise he has kept, why should we believe him now? People want to know why this bill is being pushed
through so fast.

 WILL GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE HELP US?

July 18, 2009 I watched Mike Huckabee interviewing a Canadian named Dr. Gratzer. When asked his thoughts concerning government health care in Canada, he stated only one in two patients will receive help in time. after seeing the compassion American doctors give their patients versus Canadian doctors he was appalled.
Lin Gilbert, the mother of a 15 year old boy who needs back surgery stated it could take a year or more before it can happen.
Lin said she went through the same back problems her son is having. From the time she first saw a doctor three years passed
before she could be treated. She is now trying to get help from American doctors for her son.
Is this what we want for our children, grandchildren and loved ones?
Daschle says seniors should accept the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.
Does this sound like a government that is looking after our best interests or one that is out to make government control
larger.

HOW COULD THIS AFFECT US FINANCIALLY?

Mass. passed health care reforms in 2006. They were warned of a downward turn which came about three years latter. Costs
continue to rise, premiums have risen by 9% per year, double the national average. Waiting time has increased to see a doctor
due to increased demand.
Seniors will not get the care needed because the rising cost given to illegal immigrants in America and available funds.
The United Kingdom has determined when medical care is cost effective in their country, the U.S. is also looking at this policy. In simple
terms if you are in a bad wreck or too old you may not be eligible to receive treatment, it may not be cost effective.
76% of the people say health care reform will raise taxes on the middle class. Obama says the rich will foot the cost.
When the rich are required to foot all the bill you can say good-bye to your jobs because they will be going overseas.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves

What you have read is just The tip of the iceberg. This bill is designed to destroy our Constitution.
It took hundreds of years for the roman Empire to fall. This administrations is managing to do the same thing in less than
250 years. America can not buy it's way out of debt, we have to follow the way it has been done for years, work our way out.
If you are one of the people who thinks government will keep feeding, clothing and providing for you, then you need to wake
up and smell the roses. If you are a person who works and provides for your family then join with RFA or another organization
to fight this bill. Write your Senators and Representatives to let them know the vote they make now could affect the job they will
have when their term comes up for re-election.
It's time we quit letting politicians shove our faces in the mud. Stand up to these people saying 'Yes we are going to fight you.'
Remember the Congressmen who deceived you when you vote, these are the people voting the bills in. Join a Tea Party to let your voice be
heard. America is a great country don't let a bunch of greedy beaurocrats take our Constitutional Rights away. This right was
given to us by the blood of our forefathers. It is time to stand up and say, 'We Are The People.'
